Can anyone tell me what the hell has happened to the 3rd (Dream?!) team this season?! Is there any particular reason that they seem to be totally unable to raise a side???
Is it the captaincy, is it the players, can the club do more to help?!
Doesn't seem to make sense that last season they played so well and had a regular core group of players - where have they all gone?!??!
So much for the "Dream Team" eh.....

Dear Disgruntled (whoever you are) Are you a member of OLRFC? Are you a member of another club?
The 3rd XV has played 7 of a possible 15 fixtures of which they have won 6 - hardly an accurate use of the word "totally".
Of last season's 3rd XV 2 players have now become part of the club coaching and physio team, 2 have retired and the captain has been sidelined through injury.
Due to injuries to members of the 1st XV a number of 2nd XV players are now playing for the 1st's and as a result in order to fulfill 2nd XV fixtures players are drafted up from the 3rds - resulting in a player shortage for the 3rds.
There is nothing wrong with the captaincy or the club administration. The playing committee is solely responsible for team selection however the main club committee has been in discussions with other local clubs with the objective of pooling players to allow more people to play rugby on a Saturday.
Even the Lions have problems fulfilling fixtures with a number of their 2nd XV fixtures having been cancelled due to player shortages and NONE of their 3rd XV fixtures being played. Newbold also no longer run a 3rd XV.
No club can force players to play rugby and if there are not enough players then games will be cancelled, its a fact of life.
Perhaps, rather than being critical, you might like to make a suggesstion as how to resolve this issue.....
We await your response, if you have one.

Well said Simon. Let's hope that the talks with other clubs mean we can get a regular side out again soon. Responsibility surely has to also be put on players to inform Leigh / Melv of availability ASAP...
Still no response, Disgruntled?!!

Disgruntled,
Thank you for visiting our web site and feeling the compunction to post another worthless and asinine message.
The game was canceled by whom exactly? If you can answer that question it might help.
Feel free to continue to do so as they make amusing reading.
Do you actually play rugby? If so, does your club field 3 teams ever?

These message boards do provide a good mouth piece for debate. Where I get annoyed is that people sit at their computer criticising others. Hiding behind various pseudonyms. If it means that much to you get off your lazy $^%£ and offer something to the club. Actions speak louder than words!!
